Leaves Shadow

Black & African American Religious Studies

Where to begin reading! My exploration into this collection of books was sparked by a quote from Howard Thurman's work, Jesus and the Disinherited. "What does the religion of Jesus offer to those with their backs against the wall? For Thurman, this inquiry commenced by examining Jesus' circumstances as a Jew living in Roman-occupied Judea...an outsider in his own land, a member of a marginalized and oppressed people without civil protections."
